Breast ptosis or sagging breasts describes breasts that have assumed a lower position on your chest due to a combination of factors. With pregnancy and changes in body weight your breast skin and supporting ligaments are stretched, and when your breast size decreases, the skin and supporting ligaments do not retract. Surgical correction of sagging breast is called mastopexy or breast lift. In this surgery extra skin is removed, the underlying breast tissue is molded and the breasts are repositioned at a higher position on the chest wall.

During your consultation, Dr. Humble, a Houston Breast Lift Surgeon will discuss with you your surgical options. He will discuss the different incisions, type of lift that best suits you, and the pros and cons to each choice. With your input an appropriate surgical plan will be formulated that is unique to your individual circumstances.
Breast Lift/ Mastopexy surgery is performed in a certified surgical center under general anesthesia. The surgery typical takes a couple of hours and patients are sent home the same day. No drains are used.
Post breast lift discomfort is managed with oral pain medication and close follow up will be performed by Dr. Humble. No sutures have to be removed since the sutures typically will be absorbable.
Patients typically return to work 1 week after their operation and aerobic exercise can be restarted one month after surgery.
Your new breasts will achieve their final shape/ position approximately 2 months after your surgery. For more information about our Houston/ Sugar Land Breast Lift please schedule your free consultation or email us any questions by clicking here.
