PRP Hair Restoration
Finally, a treatment that restores natural hair growth!
Our team at Houston Dermatology and Plastic Surgery is committed to helping you look and feel your best, and to finding long-term solutions to everyday problems experienced by our patients in Houston, Katy, Sugar Land and adjoining communities in Texas. For certain patients with progressive hair loss, we are now recommending Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments, as well as the Hair Max LaserComb, and products such as Minoxidil and Hair Supplements to create the perfect environment for hair restoration.
What is PRP?
PRP stands for platelet rich plasma. Rich in growth factors PRP is the most potent healer in the body. Growth factors promote healing by restoring the normal architecture and strength of the tissue. In a PRP injection, the patient’s own blood is processed at high speeds resulting in higher concentrations of the patient’s own platelets with growth and healing factors, which are then needled in and then injected to promote healing, increase local blood flow, and stimulate hair follicles to grow healthier hair.
How does PRP work?
Essential growth factors supported by your own body
Platelet Rich Plasma is an advanced new treatment that uses plasma derived from your own blood to stimulate and encourage natural hair growth. PRP stimulates hair growth by means of a process called bio-revitalization, using the essential growth factors in your own blood cells. When injected into the scalp, PRP stimulates natural growth in hair follicles. We will closely monitor your individual progress to determine how often you may need follow-up treatments to maintain thriving hair growth. Some patients can go months or even years before requiring follow-up treatments.
Hair Restoration Results
You will note an immediate improvement after your first treatment, but you may require a series of treatments to reach your aesthetic goals. You will begin to see more dramatic results of your PRP treatment as you observe your hair’s natural growth cycle, with increased growth becoming significantly more noticeable about 4 to 8 months after treatment. Your hair will naturally look and feel fuller and thicker.
Prevent future hair loss!
Beyond the immediate benefits provided by PRP injections, regular treatments can help to gradually diminish hair loss, improving density and fullness.
