What is Dysport?
Prescription Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA) is an injection that temporarily improves the look of your moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows in adults under 65 years of age.
How does Dysport work?
Dysport treats moderate to severe frown lines by reducing specific muscle activity. One injection into each of 5 points between and above the eyebrows temporarily prevents muscle contractions that cause frown lines, leaving the rest of your face to move naturally.
When will I see results?
More than half of patients saw improvement 2-3 days after treatment.
What should I tell my doctor?
Tell your doctor about all the medications you take, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal and other natural products. Let your doctor know if you have been treated with any other botulinum toxin product in the last four months and whether you experienced any allergies or side effects. Also inform your doctor if you are allergic to cow’s milk protein.
Tell your doctor about all your medical conditions, including any muscle or nerve conditions such as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease, myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome.
Tell your doctor if you have had surgery on your face or plan to do so. Your doctor should also be told if you have weakness in your forehead muscles, have trouble raising your eyebrows, or have drooping eyelids.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant or if you are nursing or plan to nurse.
