Cheek Augmentation

As one ages the soft tissue of the face loses fat and with the loss comes visible changes in the midface.  Some Aesthetic Scholars feel the cheek is the corner stone to early soft tissue aging.  In the picture on the left you can see a fusion of the skin, fat, underling muscle and bone.  In the aging face you can see the separation of these layers resulting in sagging and hollowness of the midface.  This is especially visible underneath the eyes, where the eyelid cheek junction is smooth on the youthful face and made of bumps, hollowness and sagging on the aging face.  Early signs of midface aging can be seen in people in their late 30s and early 50s.  Early on the correct is simple and gains in complexity as the problem worsens.

Fillers can be added to both the cheeks in order the replace the loss of volume, as well as, to the crease under the eyes.

PRP, or Platlet Rich Plasma can be extracted from your blood and directly injected in this area to improve the under eye hollowness- offering a natural solution to this problem.

Facial implants can be used but have the disadvantage of not "aging" with the patient.

Midface lift combined with augmentation of the area can help with both the fat loss and the drooping caused by the deflation and gravity.
